THE CATHOLIC NURSES GUILD
The Catholic Nurses Guild of Nigeria us a a professional society in the Church that has its origin in the International Council of Catholic Nurses abbreviated as CICIAMS.
Our aim is to continue the healing ministry of Jesus through voluntary rendering if health services in the Church during liturgical and non-liturgical functions.
Our activities include
1. Health screening of parishioners during masses both in the parish and the archdioceses in general.
2. Emergency services during gatherings in the Church.
3. Health talks at different occasions especially epidemics.
4. Participating in the parish health week.
5. Celebration of the World day of the sick (11th February) annually with the archbishop.
6. Participating in the World day of the elderly as care of the elderly is one of our projects at the national level.
7. Charity visitations and donations.
8. Celebration of the annual Nurses Week. (12th May).
9. Observing the World AIDS Day (1st December) by educating parishioners about the disease and how to stay safe.
10. Attendance of meetings both in the parish, Archdiocese, province and national meetings.
11. Attending the annual National, Regional and International Conferences
Meeting days: Every second Sunday of the month
Membership: This is open to all trained nurses who are licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
